A pleasant read about a family and tight knit community in a Northern England coal mining town from the 1920s tothe 1990s, told with real warmth and humour The audio version really captures and tells the story well, however it s a very long book, I felt like it took forever to listen to it The book is cheery and happy, so it s definetly a feel good read, and we should all readof those

Although an easy read, I found this book really hard to get into, probably because the subject didn t grab my attention.

I really enjoyed this book, not realising that he was the Sid Waddell who was the voice of Darts on the TV It was a smashing read, about his boyhood and his family life Highly recommended.
