This Oxford Blue series is seriously addictive I couldn t put it down It was the wee small hours of this morning when I finished it, and there aren t many books these days that give me a book hangover DThe Second Time I Saw You startsor less where The First Time We Met left off Each book can be read as a stand alone but I d recommend reading in order to fully appreciate the storyline and character development.Lauren Cusack is back in Oxford after spending Christmas at home in Washingto This Oxford Blue series is seriously addictive I couldn t put it down It was the wee small hours of this morning when I finished it, and there aren t many books these days that give me a book hangover DThe Second Time I Saw You startsor less where The First Time We Met left off Each book can be read as a stand alone but I d recommend reading in order to fully appreciate the storyline and character development.Lauren Cusack is back in Oxford after spending Christmas at home in Washington DC It s the start of Hilary term for those who like to know this stuff the series covers an academic year at the fictional Wyckham College in Oxford, and each book covers a term book 1 is Michaelmas term, this book is Hilary term and I assume book 3 Third Time Lucky will be Trinity term. The description pretty much outlines the set up so I won t repeat it, but I was pleased to find no meandering back story to plough through at the start We re straight back into the action and the pace never lets up from there The style is smooth and flowing with plenty of sharp dialogue and plot twists Lauren and Alexander s relationship edgy, passionate, complicated, obsessive is wonderfully written and the sex is appropriately hot and impulsive for a couple who are finding it difficult to be together yet impossible to stay apart The Mile High Club scene is a highlight 0 But it s the setting, the twists and turns and the secondary characters that make this series a cut above other steamy contemporaries I ve read At one point Lauren, unwillingly cast in the role of confidante, finds herself between a rock and a hard place as a result I really felt for her If she spills the beans, she ll let down someone who is very vulnerable and emotionally fragile If she keeps quiet, she risks shattering someone else s trust I m not going into anydetail though as it would be a major spoiler and I try to review without them whenever possible. One final thingthe ending is perhaps the best cliffhanger I ve encountered in a series again, no spoilers, you ll just have to read and find out and all I can say is thank goodness Third Time Lucky is out in October I can t wait to see what happens next I know the author personally but I did not receive an ARC and purchased my own copy All opinions are my own, I was not required to write a positive review

The Second Time I Saw You, The Oxford Blue Series, Pippa CroftReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsStupidly I had another Muppet moment, and it wasn t til I was reading this and kept thinking there was a lot of assumed knowledge, that I realised this was book two and book one is The First Time We Met which I haven t read I will though, as this is such a terrific story that its one for my rereading keeper files Despite not having read the first book it was easy to pick up the story, and like L The Second Time I Saw You, The Oxford Blue Series, Pippa CroftReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsStupidly I had another Muppet moment, and it wasn t til I was reading this and kept thinking there was a lot of assumed knowledge, that I realised this was book two and book one is The First Time We Met which I haven t read I will though, as this is such a terrific story that its one for my rereading keeper files Despite not having read the first book it was easy to pick up the story, and like Lauren I was in love lust with Alexander, but puzzled at his sudden character changes Then there s his younger sister, having secrets that Lauren found out, but she was asked not to tell Alexandera difficult position one of those where you feel for her as whichever she does is going to be wrong, and you know the secrets will come out just at the wrong moment Then there s the wonderfully wicked ex she s a perfect bitch, and I do so love one of those, adds much needed for me drama, along with Lauren s friend Scott. There s snippets of daily life, tutorials at college with the sleazy Professor Rafe, college parties and other functions, Alexander s need for support at a really difficult time, and she needs to learn how to handle his moods and secrets, it all adds up to a romance that s seriously hot and sexy, tantalising and erotic, and full of the deep drama that I love A cracking read, and I m really keen to read the first book to catch up, and then to find out how the story ends It s a cliffhanger ending, but not a too horrible one, a mystery and it s dramatic but there s a hint of good in it too. What I hate about trilogies and duos is the long wait between books, but this one seems to have been brought out in a better way for readers like me, with book one out 14 Feb, book two 22 May and book three due 11 September so reasonably short intervals I hate waiting 18 months orbetween parts, I ve lost the momentum thenbut with a good trilogy like this, out fairly quickly, its also a pleasure to re read all three parts back to back once they re all out Well priced too at 3.99 for parts around 380 400 pages Stars Fabulous read, just what a love so a full five ARC supplied via Netgalley
